Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior AWS Platform & AI Cloud Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly hands-on AWS Cloud Engineer to support and execute infrastructure operations within a 100% AWS environment. This position involves daily execution within core AWS services. The ideal candidate has deep AWS infrastructure expertise and experience leveraging AI in AWS tools.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Hands-on AWS infrastructure execution and operational support
- Demonstrate strong command of AWS core services in daily operations
- Operate effectively within a structured Kanban workflow
- Leverage AI tools to improve automation and execution efficiency
- Contribute to secure, stable, and scalable AWS environments
- Provision and manage EC2 instances
- Configure and maintain Security Groups
- Update account-level configurations and parameters
- Create and configure new AWS accounts
- Build and maintain Service Catalog items
- Implement infrastructure changes across AWS environments
- Support ongoing infrastructure automation efforts
- Participate in daily stand-ups to review active work and priorities
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Deep AWS infrastructure expertise and practical execution experience
- Strong, hands-on experience with core AWS services, including:
- VPCs
- Subnets
- Route53
- Application Load Balancers (ALB) & Network Load Balancers (NLB)
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Security Groups
- Network ACLs (NACLs)
- EC2
- S3
- EBS
- IAM
- Systems Manager (SSM)
- CloudWatch
- StackSets
- GuardDuty
- CloudFormation
- Demonstrated expertise writing, updating, and troubleshooting AWS CloudFormation templates
- Experience managing and deploying infrastructure as code
- Security & Automation
- Experience working with security scanning tools such as SonarQube
- Strong understanding of secure cloud engineering best practices
- Familiarity with implementing security controls within AWS environments
- AI-First Engineering Mindset
- Experience leveraging AWS-based AI tooling (including Amazon Queue and Kiro-related tools)
- Understanding how AI supports infrastructure automation
- Ability to engineer effective prompts
- Understanding how AI integrates into cloud build and deployment processes
- Comfort working in environments where automation is attempted through AI before manual execution
Pay Range: $70-$75/hr
