Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Systems Engineer position! This is a 12+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) OR fully remote option available. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview:
Completes activities related to larger and/or more complex installations, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Ensures systems and processes adhere to organizational standards while enabling staff and partners.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Respond to and resolve help desk escalations based on prior incident outcomes
- Analyze system issues and create trending reports to support long-term solutions
- Develop and document procedures for work orders and request-based tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical incidents using diagnostic tools
- Perform system maintenance activities including patching, health checks, OS updates, and validation of changes
- Research anomalies, provide recommendations, and collaborate with senior staff
- Schedule maintenance to minimize operational risk
- Provide coaching and mentorship to less experienced team members
- Support scheduled evening responsibilities
- Develop and maintain documentation for maintenance procedures and operational standards
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
What You'll Need to Have:
- Broadcom Automic (or similar job scheduler) experience
- Infrastructure support experience (Linux, Windows servers; SQL, Oracle databases)
- Data center experience including Azure Cloud and CoLo environments
- Minimum of 6 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Certifications or specialized training in related technologies
Pay Range: $45 - $50/hr
