Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Endpoint Engineer position! This is a contract opportunity and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY (4 days onsite, 1 day remote). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview
The Senior Endpoint Engineer will support and improve the enterprise endpoint environment. This role is responsible for maintaining desktop operating systems, managing endpoint policies, supporting security controls, resolving complex endpoint incidents, and streamlining and automating desktop management processes.
This is an engineering-focused role responsible for improving and automating enterprise endpoint platforms rather than providing day-to-day desktop support. The engineer will work closely with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to ensure a secure, stable, and efficient end-user computing experience.

What You'll Be Doing
- Work closely with Technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to implement and manage the design, development, and execution of enterprise endpoint solutions.
- Perform infrastructure review, implementation, and design activities including documentation, standards, policies, analysis, and testing.
- Manage and improve enterprise desktop operating system environments, device management platforms, and endpoint policies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex endpoint incidents escalated from support teams while performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
- Identify inefficiencies in desktop management processes and improve them through scripting, automation, and operational improvements.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians while reviewing documentation and proposed changes.
What You’ll Need to Have
- Endpoint Management & OS Administration – Experience managing enterprise desktop environments including OS lifecycle management, patching, device management platforms (such as Intune, SCCM, or JAMF), and endpoint policy configuration.
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution – Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex endpoint issues escalated from service desk teams and implement long-term solutions.
- Process Optimization & Automation – Experience improving desktop management processes through scripting, automation, and operational improvements.
- Minimum 6 years of combined higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured technical implementations.
- Strong understanding of server/client and virtual technologies.
What Would Be Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Experience in a technical engineering role involving infrastructure design technologies, system design, or development for complex applications.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder communication skills.
- Process-oriented mindset with strong logical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range: $55 - $60/hr
