Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cloud Data Platform Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract with potential to extend opportunity and will be remote in Canada. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
Position Overview:
This person will contribute to driving the digital future of hospitality. As digital experts, they will support the build of a diverse portfolio of consumer-facing products and platforms including mobile apps, self-service kiosks, point-of-sale systems, and delivery platforms.
This team also explores emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and frictionless retail, continuously pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to enhance the customer experience across hospitality environments.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources using SQL and AWS technologies
- Build and maintain Airflow DAGs to support automated data workflows and ETL processes
- Develop and maintain data APIs that enable reliable access to data across systems and applications
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to support scalable data infrastructure and model pipelines
- Partner with analytics and business teams to provide data insights and ensure data availability for reporting and decision-making
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot data-related technical issues and support evolving data infrastructure needs
- Prototype and evaluate new technologies and tools that help improve consumer experiences and support the future of hospitality technology
- Contribute to the development of modern data architecture using cloud-based technologies and best practices
What You’ll Need to Have:
- 3–5 years of experience in a Data Engineering or similar role
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience working with SQL, relational databases, and writing complex SQL queries
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining ETL pipelines
- Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools
- Experience working with a public cloud platform (AWS preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to collaborate and learn in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have (Bonus Skills)
- Experience with Spark for large-scale data processing
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Experience working with Snowflake or other modern data warehouse platforms
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
Pay Range: $40-45/hr CAD
