Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Analytics Engineer position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will be hybrid on site in Toronto, Canada. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. 

Position Overview: 

As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the data transformation layer that powers analytics, reporting, and data science across the organization.

You will ensure that data is reliable, well-structured, and accessible while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data infrastructure, optimize pipelines, and support data-driven decision making.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

Build and Maintain Data Transformation Pipelines

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data transformation pipelines using tools such as dbt to support analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives.

Ensure Data Quality and Reliability

• Implement and maintain data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across systems.

Optimize Data Pipelines and Performance

• Improve the efficiency, scalability, and performance of data pipelines to ensure reliable and timely data availability for internal teams.

Collaborate Across Teams

• Work closely with analytics, data science, product, and engineering teams to understand data requirements, resolve data-related challenges, and support business insights.

Monitor and Troubleshoot Data Pipelines

• Proactively monitor data workflows and pipelines, quickly identifying and resolving issues to maintain high system reliability and performance.

Improve Data Infrastructure

• Identify opportunities to enhance the data platform and recommend improvements in tools, technologies, and architecture to support growing data needs.

Maintain Technical Documentation

• Create and maintain clear documentation for data models, schema definitions, transformation processes, and overall data infrastructure to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.

What You’ll Need to Have

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Analytics Engineering Experience

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a closely related data engineering or analytics role.

Programming Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with experience building and maintaining data pipelines. Experience with dbt is strongly preferred.

Data Modeling and Warehousing Expertise

• Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and modern data warehousing concepts.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

• Ability to analyze complex datasets, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and design scalable data solutions with strong attention to detail.

Collaboration and Communication

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Pay Range: $45-$47/hr
