Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Azure Cloud Security Engineer position! This is a 12 month contract and will be onsite in Buffalo, NY with 4 days on-site at Seneca One. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of cloud security solutions specifically within Azure environments, serving as the subject matter expert for Azure security technologies and services
- Architect and implement enterprise-level Azure security frameworks using Azure Permissions and Azure Policy to meet current and future organizational needs
- Collaborate with Technology management, business partners, and support teams to translate complex security requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementations
- Develop and maintain technology standards, policies, and best practices for cloud security architecture across the organization
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools and expanded systems capabilities, including GitLab and Microsoft's Enterprise Policy as Code (EPAC) tool
- Coordinate vendor interactions and manage contract resources, ensuring alignment with security standards and organizational objectives
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians, reviewing their documentation, proposals, and technical implementations
- Conduct thorough analysis of user requirements, operational constraints, and security risks, leading unit testing, system integration, and user acceptance testing efforts
What You'll Need to Have:
- 10+ years of experience in systems design, management, infrastructure architecture, or related technical engineering roles
- In-depth, hands-on experience with Cloud Security in Azure, including enterprise-level implementation of Azure Permissions and Azure Policy
- Proven ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions using industry-standard approaches
- Strong knowledge of system development lifecycle, infrastructure architecture, virtual technologies, and IT Service Management best practices
- Advanced technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex security challenges
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Experience with project estimation, budget planning, and working independently in fast-paced environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with GitLab and Microsoft's Enterprise Policy as Code (EPAC) tool is a plus
Pay Range: $90 - $100/hr
