Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Java Developer position! This is a 15+ month contract opportunity and will be on site in Buffalo, NY 4 days per week and remote 1 day per week. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview
Provides designs and specifies information systems solutions while offering highly technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Serves as a principal application designer for major modifications using analytical and technical expertise to evaluate client requirements and processes. Delivers technologically sound solutions while supporting day-to-day activities and special projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Complete and oversee systems analysis, design, and development for basic to complex applications
- Act as a key individual contributor on complex projects while maintaining strong functional knowledge of supported applications
- Direct and coordinate development tasks for small to large scope projects
- Prepare and manage technical components of project plans
- Collaborate with development, operations, and technology teams across the full SDLC
- Prepare, review, and execute detailed test plans and debugging activities
- Analyze complex system relationships across applications and platforms
- Provide consulting and leadership on new technology solutions to meet business objectives
- Develop and maintain technical and functional documentation
- Review documentation and work produced by less experienced staff
- Conduct project assessments including timelines and effort estimation
- Ensure efficient operation of supported applications
- Recommend new technologies, policies, and process improvements
- Participate in vendor software evaluations
- Maintain understanding of supported business functions and strategic direction
- Ensure adherence to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards
- Identify and escalate risk-related issues as needed
What You'll Need to Have:
- 10+ years of Java development experience
- Java 21 / Spring Boot 4.0
- Oracle Database
- Microservices architecture
- Experience working with business units and coordinating across teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with banking or enterprise application frameworks
- Advanced understanding of integrated systems and applications
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments
- Strong multitasking ability across complex project components
- Proactive, action-oriented mindset
Pay Range: $65-74/hr
