*2+ Month Contract Opportunity*


Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Data Center Technician position! This is a 2+ month contract and will be on-site in downtown Chicago. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Interpret and refine project requirements through active communication with engineering staff and less technical team members.
  • Assign appropriate rack space, infrastructure cables and ports, LAN switch ports, and management switch ports.
  • Manage delivery and pick-up of equipment, including staging for installation and proper handling of shipping documentation.
  • Install and remove routers, switches, servers, security appliances, and other equipment, as well as copper and fiber cable, racks, and patch panels.
  • Ensure implementation of projects in alignment with documented processes and standards with minimal business impact.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support peer review and future maintenance efficiency.
  • Communicate technical requirements, instructions, and statuses clearly to varied audiences.
  • Fulfill scheduled evening responsibilities and participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as required.
  • Comply with risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, and escalate risk-related issues as needed.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including audit and regulatory compliance.


What You'll Need to Have:

  • A combined minimum of 4 years of higher education and/or work experience.
  • Proven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, network devices, and infrastructure equipment in a data center or enterprise environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve hardware, network, and cabling issues promptly to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Cable Management and Infrastructure knowledge.
  • Familiarity with system monitoring tools and practices to identify and respond to equipment failures or performance alerts.
  • Capable of providing hands-on technical assistance and responding to support requests involving physical infrastructure, connectivity, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Ability to understand and apply technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience providing updates and communicating technical issues to management.
  • Strong customer focus with proven ability to manage multiple work priorities.


Nice to Have:

  • Associate's degree in Technology or a related field.
  • Certifications or specialized training in related technologies.


Pay Range: $30-$40/hr +
