Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their IT Infrasructure Systems Administrator position! This is a 1 year contract with potential to extend or convert opportunity and will be hybrid on site 3 days per week in Toronto, Canada. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. 

 

Position Overview: 


The IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the organization’s IT infrastructure and operating systems function efficiently, reliably, and securely.


This role supports over 3,000 operating units and offices across Canada and the United States, providing technical expertise across system implementation, infrastructure maintenance, and escalated support while helping maintain enterprise technology standards and best practices.


 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

 

  • Provide day-to-day systems administration and technical support across a complex enterprise environment.
  • Respond to and resolve incident requests and operational issues, partnering with internal teams to troubleshoot and restore service (approximately 50% of the role).
  • Support server environments, user accounts, and core infrastructure systems, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and operational.
  • Assist with the administration and support of AWS cloud infrastructure, along with limited on-premises infrastructure when required.
  • Collaborate closely with internal systems administrators, infrastructure teams, and operational stakeholders to coordinate issue resolution and implement solutions across the environment.
  • Provide deskside and technical support when necessary, including assisting with networking or infrastructure issues at operational sites.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning discussions and initiatives, working closely with leadership to help evaluate solutions and coordinate implementation efforts.
  • Contribute to two major enterprise initiatives currently underway:
  • Migration from JD Edwards (JDE) to SAP, supporting discussions and technical planning for system and data migration.
  • Transition from Remedy to Microsoft Dynamics, assisting with the modernization of service management tooling.
  • Act as a central liaison during technical issues, coordinating between on-site teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure problems are identified and resolved efficiently.
  • Attend planning and project meetings with leadership to support ongoing infrastructure initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Assist with automation and process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline operational tasks and infrastructure management.


What You’ll Need to Have


Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Support, or similar technical operations role supporting enterprise environments

Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies including:

  • Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Server hardware installation and configuration
  • Active Directory administration including GPO management and replication concepts
  • Enterprise applications such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and SAP
  • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Power Apps and AI tools for automating operational tasks and processes

Hands-on experience supporting AWS cloud environments, including general administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experience responding to incident requests, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.

Experience supporting servers, user accounts, and enterprise infrastructure systems.

Strong automation and scripting capabilities, including experience with:

  • PowerShell
  • Power Apps
  • Infrastructure scripting or automation tools
  • Use of AI tools to enhance operational efficiency or automation

Comfort working within a complex, evolving technical environment with a willingness to learn new systems and tools.

Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.

Ability to operate both independently and as a technical partner, supporting leadership in driving infrastructure initiatives forward.



Additional Requirements


  • Willingness to work after-hours during maintenance windows or emergency support situations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required between GTA and London Offices
  • Capable of safely lifting up to 20kg regularly as part of hardware support responsibilities.

 

Pay Range: $30-35/hr CAD
