Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Scrum Master position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity with potential extensions and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and mentor multiple cross-functional agile teams through servant-leadership, applying Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks to foster self-organization, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Facilitate high-quality sprint ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive alignment and effective execution
- Coach teams on agile practices such as user stories, story mapping, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), continuous integration, and pairing to build high-performing teams
- Manage dependencies across teams and maintain risk visibility through RAID logs, escalation patterns, and proactive impediment removal to keep teams focused on achieving their goals
- Track and communicate delivery metrics including predictability, throughput, and flow using information radiators and agile tooling (Jira, Confluence, Miro) to ensure transparency for stakeholders
- Collaborate with other Agile Leaders to increase the effectiveness of agile practices across the organization and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide mentorship to less experienced Scrum Masters and curate team-level coaching content to strengthen understanding of effective agile theories and techniques
- Host learning opportunities such as communities of practice, conferences, and training sessions to support ongoing team development and knowledge sharing
What You'll Need to Have:
- 4+ years of experience as a member of an agile team, including 2+ years as a Scrum Master (or 8+ years combined higher education and/or work experience in lieu of a degree)
- Strong Scrum and SAFe/scaling experience with demonstrated ability to execute in structured enterprise environments, particularly in banking or regulated industries
- Solid proficiency with agile tooling including Jira, Confluence, and Miro — not learning on the job
- Proven experience managing dependencies across teams, risk visibility (RAID logs, escalation patterns), and delivery metrics (predictability, throughput, flow efficiency)
- Master-level understanding of the Scrum framework including inputs/outputs of all events and how to add value through efficient, purposeful ceremonies
- Coachable and creative mindset with openness to feedback, iterative improvement, and balancing theory with practical execution
- Strong ability to lead through influence, fostering team empathy while maintaining accountability for delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders
Pay Range: $60-65/hr
