Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Business Operations & Performance Data Scientist / ML Data Analyst position! This is a 1 year + contract with potential to hire opportunity. This person can work remotely in Canada with some travel to Calgary required. If local to Calgary, a preference for on site 4 days to collaborate in the office. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered. 


 

What You’ll Be Doing: 


  • In this role, you’ll turn complex data into actionable insights, helping shape go-to-market strategies and operational decisions.
  • This role is focused on reducing revenue leakage, driving customer growth, and improving customer satisfaction through advanced analytics and machine learning.
  • You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models, optimize customer engagement strategies, and deliver actionable insights that directly influence commercial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain predictive models to improve customer retention and operational performance
  • Perform customer segmentation analysis to support targeted growth and retention strategies
  • Analyze and optimize campaign performance across channels (email, SMS, phone)
  • Leverage AI/ML and automation to streamline processes and enhance decision-making
  • Generate actionable insights from large datasets to influence business strategy
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and scorecards using Power BI
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and external partners to align analytics initiatives
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and data models to support analytics and reporting


 

What You’ll Need to Have: 


  • There is a potential for international travel (valid passport required)
  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Databricks, GCP (BigQuery), SAP, Oracle, and APIs
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, gradient boosting (XGBoost/LightGBM)
  • Experience with data integration, transformation, and modeling
  • Exposure to robotic process automation (RPA) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience in statistical modeling and quantitative analysis
  • 2+ years of experience building predictive models using AI/ML techniques
  • 5+ years of experience working with SQL and Python, R, or similar languages
  • Strong understanding of predictive modeling and classification algorithms
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of contact center operations, billing, or remittance processes
  • Experience in the utilities industry (electricity or natural gas)


 

Pay Range: $80-$84/hr CAD
