Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Business Operations & Performance Data Scientist / ML Data Analyst position! This is a 1 year + contract with potential to hire opportunity. This person can work remotely in Canada with some travel to Calgary required. If local to Calgary, a preference for on site 4 days to collaborate in the office. This role will be a T4 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- In this role, you’ll turn complex data into actionable insights, helping shape go-to-market strategies and operational decisions.
- This role is focused on reducing revenue leakage, driving customer growth, and improving customer satisfaction through advanced analytics and machine learning.
- You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to develop predictive models, optimize customer engagement strategies, and deliver actionable insights that directly influence commercial outcomes.
- Build and maintain predictive models to improve customer retention and operational performance
- Perform customer segmentation analysis to support targeted growth and retention strategies
- Analyze and optimize campaign performance across channels (email, SMS, phone)
- Leverage AI/ML and automation to streamline processes and enhance decision-making
- Generate actionable insights from large datasets to influence business strategy
- Develop dashboards, reports, and scorecards using Power BI
- Collaborate with business, IT, and external partners to align analytics initiatives
- Design and maintain data pipelines and data models to support analytics and reporting
What You’ll Need to Have:
- There is a potential for international travel (valid passport required)
- Technical Skills:

Experience with Databricks, GCP (BigQuery), SAP, Oracle, and APIs

Knowledge of machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, random forest, gradient boosting (XGBoost/LightGBM)

Experience with data integration, transformation, and modeling

Exposure to robotic process automation (RPA) is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience in statistical modeling and quantitative analysis
- 2+ years of experience building predictive models using AI/ML techniques
- 5+ years of experience working with SQL and Python, R, or similar languages
- Strong understanding of predictive modeling and classification algorithms
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field

Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools

Knowledge of contact center operations, billing, or remittance processes

Experience in the utilities industry (electricity or natural gas)
Pay Range: $80-$84/hr CAD
