Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Mobile Application Developer position! This is a 6-12+ month contract opportunity based in Buffalo, NY, and can be REMOTE in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Mobile Application Developer with strong native iOS and Android fundamentals to build and support secure, customer-facing banking applications. This role is ideal for an engineer who understands mobile application lifecycles, secure app delivery, and platform-specific capabilities, and who can operate effectively within the security, compliance, and reliability standards required in financial services.
You will work on mobile experiences that directly impact customers, ensuring applications are secure, stable, performant, and compliant across iOS and Android platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain native and hybrid mobile applications for iOS and Android used by banking customers.
- Implement and support secure mobile application lifecycles, from development through release and ongoing production support.
- Integrate and manage platform-specific APIs, including: Camera and secure document capture, Local and secure storage mechanisms, Push notifications and in-app messaging, Biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, device credentials)
- Collaborate with backend, security, and identity teams to ensure secure authentication flows, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to banking security standards, including secure credential handling, encryption, and device trust controls.
- Support mobile app releases, signing, and store submissions, ensuring repeatable, auditable release processes.
- Diagnose and resolve platform-specific issues related to performance, lifecycle management, and device variability.
What You’ll Need to Have:
- iOS Platform Expertise
- Strong fundamentals in Swift and/or Objective-C.
- Hands-on experience using Xcode, including debugging, profiling, and build configuration.
- Solid understanding of iOS application lifecycle, background execution, and memory management.
- Experience with iOS app signing, provisioning profiles, certificates, and App Store delivery in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Android Platform Expertise
- Strong fundamentals in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Hands-on experience with Android Studio and modern Android development tooling.
- Solid understanding of the Android application lifecycle, activities, fragments, and background processing.
- Experience using Gradle for build automation, dependency management, and environment configuration.
- Platform-Specific Mobile Capabilities
- Experience integrating native mobile APIs, including:
- Camera access and image handling
- Secure local and device storage
- Push notifications and system alerts
- Biometric authentication and device-level security features
- Banking & Regulated Environment Expectations
- Familiarity with secure mobile development practices for financial services.
- Understanding of customer data protection, privacy, and secure access patterns.
- Ability to follow structured development, testing, and release processes aligned with regulatory and audit requirements.
- Comfort working in environments with formal change management and risk controls.
Pay Range: $70-$74/hr
