Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Scrum Master position! This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will be on-site in Buffalo, NY (4 days per week). This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.
Position Overview:
This is a hands-on doer role that will be leading two cross-functional agile teams through effective application of Agile principles and frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile (SAFe). This role focuses on driving high performance, continuous improvement, and delivery predictability within a high-visibility, business-critical program. This isn't a coach, but someone who can effectively drive agile teams and be accountable to delivering real business value.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Partner with stakeholders including Enterprise Architects, leadership, and development teams to align on program goals
- Drive accountability within the team to ensure sprint commitments are met and delivery remains predictable
- Leverage Jira data and reporting to provide clear, fact-based delivery insights
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Proactively manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines
- Ensure visibility into team progress through effective use of information radiators and reporting tools
- Identify and remove impediments, escalating issues when necessary to keep the team focused on delivery goals
What You’ll Need to Have:
- Strong Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
- Proactively manage cross-team and cross-ART dependencies
- Expert-level Agile knowledge, Jira, and JQL experience
- Expert-level experience with Jira Cloud including dashboards, reporting, workflow/board configuration, and advanced JQL
- Proven ability to use data to drive delivery insights and decision-making
- Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe principles
- Strong execution discipline with the ability to manage risks, dependencies, and impediments
- Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and escalate when necessary
- Hands-on Scrum Master experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Experience working on complex, high-visibility programs with multiple dependencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Pay Range: $75 - $80/hr
